UPDATE: As of 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2021

This is an update to previous ReadyKern messages concerning the French Fire in the Kern River Valley. SOME Evacuation WARNINGS have been LIFTED. The following information is complete at the time of this message.

The following evacuation WARNINGS have been lifted. The community of Wofford Heights from Pala ranches east. The community of Isabella highlands. The entire community of Hungry Gulch. The entire community of Dutch Flat. The highway 155 corridor from highway 178 north to Plater Rd. is now out of an evacuation WARNING. All other evacuation ORDERS remain in place until further notice.

Fire Department staff, vehicles, and equipment remain in the area. Residents should exercise appropriate caution around them.

Residents should remain alert, aware of their surroundings, and prepared to respond appropriately during emergencies. You are encouraged to take action immediately if you feel threatened, even if you have not received another ReadyKern message.

Evacuation ORDERS remain in effect for the following communities:

Keysville, Shirley Meadows, Alta Sierra, Slick Rock, Wagy Flats, Black Gulch and the area around Fulton Peak south of Windmill Tree Peak (the ranch land area)

Roads west of Pala Ranches and all roads under the evacuation Order remain closed to the public.
